December 3 of every year is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), a day when the world pauses to reflect and come together to build a society where everyone can access equal opportunities and human dignity. It is not only about providing assistance, but about standing alongside one another and recognizing the inherent value of every person with a disability.
For Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities, Lat Krabang, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities carries a meaning far beyond an international observance. It reflects the very mission we uphold every day: to care for, rehabilitate, develop, and create opportunities for children with disabilities to grow with dignity and to reach a future that is as bright as their individual potential.
Over the years, Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities in Lat Krabang has continuously worked to create a home that serves as a space of love and hope for children with diverse disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and developmental challenges. Our team of staff, caregivers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, priests, and supporters walk alongside the children on their journey, helping them grow to their fullest potential. This includes developing essential life skills, supporting learning, enhancing rehabilitation, and even providing vocational skills for older children.
Programs such as vocational training for children with disabilities, rehabilitation initiatives, occupational and physiotherapy activities, as well as the creation of the “Happy Farm – Space of Sharing Kindness” project in Nong Chok, are part of our ongoing efforts to provide children with a more secure and sustainable future.
On this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we would like to invite everyone to see ability rather than disability, and to help create a society that is open, inclusive, and respectful of one another’s differences. When children with disabilities receive the right support, they can grow into valuable adults and become a creative force in society, just like everyone else.
Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities in Lat Krabang would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of creating opportunities, transforming lives, and walking alongside our children on this journey together.
Because every life has value,
and every act of love can create a future.
