The Songkran Festival Activity

The Songkran Festival activity was organized by Camillian Home for Children with Disabilities (Lat Krabang) in celebration of the Thai New Year. The event aimed to preserve Thailand’s rich cultural traditions while providing children with the opportunity to learn about and actively participate in these meaningful practices.

During the activity, the children took part in offering alms to monks, a traditional practice believed to bring blessings and good fortune at the start of the new year. They also learned the values of kindness and sharing. In addition, the children participated in the Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony, where they respectfully poured water over the hands of elders to seek blessings and express gratitude—an important Thai tradition passed down through generations.

The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with warmth and joy. The children enjoyed playing water safely, creating laughter, smiles, and a sense of togetherness. This activity was not only a moment of fun, but also a valuable learning experience that enriched the children’s understanding of culture and community.

For children with disabilities, participating in social and cultural activities like this is especially meaningful. It helps develop essential life skills, build confidence, and broaden their learning experiences beyond the classroom, enabling them to grow and live happily within society.

Camillian Home sincerely thanks all supporters for their continued kindness and generosity. We hope to receive your ongoing support so that meaningful activities like this can continue in the future, allowing us to create more opportunities and bring smiles to the children.
